what is young masters golf?
YMG is a multi-layered programme that progresses a complete novice golfer into a junior golfer and is recognised as the best way for youngsters to get into the game of golf.
Developed by a team of highly experienced PGA Professional golfers, it is ideal for boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 12 years old.
YMG covers every aspect of the game, giving children targets to work to, exciting challenges, and rewards for achievement.
DAY 1 - FULL SWING
Starting with the basic setup the days aim will be to build a powerful, balanced swing with good fundamental movements.
DAY 2 - FULL SWING
Using the techniques learned from day 1 the golfer will be tested in a number of areas to determine skill level.
DAY 3 - CHIPPING & PITCHING
A very important part of golf, this day is dedicated to short shots towards various targets focusing on fun learning and skills testing.
DAY 4 - PUTTING & prize giving
"The game within the game" is the focus of the day with fun putting drills and skills testing, with a small informal presentation of certificates and prizes to conclude

Q: How old do I have to be?
A: YMG courses are ideal for both boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12.
Q: D0 I need to be a member of Murrafield Golf Club?
A: No, you don't need to be a member of Murrayfield Golf Club to take part in a YMG course. Memberships are available for those interested from the age of 7 years old.
Q. How much does it cost?
A: The cost of each course is £95 per child.

Directions from Murrayfield Golf Club
Golf lessons take place at the driving range which is located at the top of Ravelston Dykes Lane. From the clubhouse turn left and left again at the traffic lights. Take your second left onto Ravelston Dykes Lane. The car park is situated at the end of the lane next to the Greenkeepers shed.
Courses are limited to 12 children and a minimum of 5 attendees are required for the class to go ahead.
